    Different Causes of Cat Dandruff

    February 29th, 2012 by bujes.marketing

If your cat has recently developed dandruff, it is possible that this is due to some recent changes in your cats life possible causes of cat dandruff are the environment, dry climate, changes or insufficiencies in your cats diet, allergies (to scents, irritants, particles in the air), medications or even Cheyletiella mites, which are otherwise known as “walking dandruff”. Skin that is sunburnt, dead and peeling off, can also appear in the form of dandruff.

    Changes In Diet

Of all of these, by far among the biggest source of cat dandruff is changes in a cats diet. Like us, cats can also get dandruff, especially if they are placed on a diet that limits their intake of fats, because a diet lacking in the right amount of fats and fluids can leave skin dry and parched. If this is what is causing your cats dandruff, you can deal with this problem by putting your cat on a diet with meat proteins and omega 3 fatty acids (cod liver oil is among the best), particularly canned food, instead of dry cat food.

    Cheyletiellosis (Cheyletiella Mites Infestation)

Otherwise known as “walking dandruff”, Cheyletiella mites can leave a cats skin dry and flaky. As the yellow mites move amongst the flakes, it can look as if the dandruff flakes are also moving. These mites can affect different animals with fur, including rabbits and dogs, and can be transmitted via immediate contact, or by way of beddings and any objects that might have Cheyletiella mites. Apart from dandruff, if you notice your cat losing hair, scratching a lot, has inflamed skin with tiny bumps or scabs and back lesions, it is possible that your cat is suffering from Cheyletiellosis. This condition is also diagnosed through eggs that might be present in cat feaces on little cat paws. Medications containing selamectin (such as Revolution) can be used to treat Cheyletiella. If your cat has developed sores from Cheyletiellosis, consider using a homeopathic treatment like Taraxacum officinalis or Equisetum arvense, which are soothing to the skin.

    Dry Weather

In the winter season, the air can be extra dry, and this can lead to dry skin. If the weather has been dry and has left your cat with dandruff, consider the use of a good humidifier in your home.

    Poor Skin Health

If your cat has poor skin health, consider giving your cat some Fucus vesiculosis. A sea vegetable, Fucus vesiculosis is utilized for many natural remedies, since it works to promote thyroid health.

    Sunburn (Solar Dermatitis)

If sunburn is whats causing your cats dandruff, see to it that there is enough shade where your cat tends to stay for most of the day. Have your cat stay indoors between 10 AM and 4 PM. Also consider a vet-approved waterproof sunscreen for your cat. Squamous cell carcinoma can be mistaken for mere sunburn. Get your cat checked to make sure.

Is Green Poop A Cause To Go See A Doctor?

    February 27th, 2012 by bujes.marketing

In the past few years, the price of going to see a doctor has dramatically risen. Despite the raising price though, many people are still willing to pay the expense if they think it will help keep them healthy. So when people ask, why is my poop green, they also tend to ask, do I need to go see a doctor? Well, let’s find out!

Before we go any further, I think it would be beneficial if I told you what the causes of green poop are. Generally, our feces turns green due to putting too much artificial coloring in our bodies. I know that you would never intentionally do this, but the fact is, you still do.

All most everything we eat (cake, candy, ice creme, etc.) is filled with chemicals that change their colors. And because of this, our poop will also change colors from time to time.

As you can see, this really is not something that you need to lose sleep over. Simply change your diet a little bit, and your poop will be fine. And no, you do not need to go see a doctor.

    Top 3 Credit Report Misconceptions

    February 26th, 2012 by bujes.marketing

You will have to agree with the statement that, the more important a particular concept is, the more are the number of misconceptions that cloud it. The concept of credit reports and scores is no different in this regard. Dispelling a few credit report misconceptions for you, listed below are a few things you might have been misinformed about:

    1. All credit enquiries cost you points: This is the most believed statement but there is little truth in this. Only the hard credit enquiries like loan enquiry cost you points. Enquires for utility connection, shift of bank account or employer check has no effect on the report.

    2. Bankruptcy stays on the report forever: This is so untrue! Unlike negative information that lasts for seven years, bankruptcy lasts for over ten years. But, the older it gets, the lesser are its side-effects.

    3. Your earning capacity affects credit report: One thing that most people believe is that, earning affects the credit report. You need to understand that credit report shows, how well you manage the finances and not how much you earn.

So, next time just keep these points in mind when thinking about how to improve the credit report.

How To Tell If Your Cat Is Pregnant Or In Heat

    February 24th, 2012 by bujes.marketing

Many cat owners only find out that their cat was pregnant, when they see the litter of kittens feeding from the mom. This sort of thing is also known to happen to humans, with females not realizing they are pregnant until they are in labor. The good news is that there are some things that you could keep an eye out for, if you wish to find out how to tell if your cat is pregnant, or in heat.

How Do I Know When My Cat Is In Heat?

When a cat is in heat, this is known as “calling” or the “estrous cycle”, and this has four different phases, from Proestrus, to Estrus, Metestrus, and then Diestrus. Estrus is the phase when a queen wishes to mate, and this is usually when she is ovulating and fertile. There are a few factors that can influence this phase, such as a cats overall health, age, as well as the hours of daylight within a given season. Estrus can occur several times in a year (polyestrus).

How Long Does A Cat Stay In Heat?

During the puberty of a queen, estrus can set in. For Siamese cats, puberty can set in at 4 months or 5, while for other breeds of cats, estrus can begin a couple of months before the cat is a year old. Cats tend to mate each season, and can give birth each and every year. Regularly, this is the spring season, as this is the season when the sun is out more. Estrus itself can last from a week to as much as 3 days more. Female cats that are not impregnated or do not mate will begin their estrus phase again within 2 to 3 weeks. For cats that undergo a “false pregnancy” or “pseudo pregnancy”, the estrus phase should begin again after about a month. Hopefully this will give you more idea about how long a cat stays in heat.

What Signs And Symptoms Do I Need To Look Out For?

A queen that is in heat can begin to act very “sweet” to her owner, others, as well as other cats. Your little cat paws is likely to rub up against your legs, or vocalize herself by yowling. Female cats that are in heat are also likely to stick their behinds up in the air, while moving their tale left and right, or walking up and down. During the estrus period, a queen is also likely to lose her appetite. Spraying is also a possibility, and your female cat might begin licking the genital area. However, remember that some cats may not exhibit these abovementioned signs and symptoms. These cats are referred to as “silent callers”. Cats that are in heat are best kept indoors.

Is There A Way To Prevent Estrus?

If you wish to do this, consider getting your female cat spayed. This can put a stop to the heat cycles, as well as get rid of certain health issues.
